Colour Photo Review : Not the least color photo in the world today, but colorful hearts..!
This movie review is about a Korean movie loved by people around the world, ‘Parasite’. This South Korean movie won the Academy Award for the best international film and the director of the movie, Bong Joon Ho won the best director award at the Oscars 2020. Yeo- Jeong Cho, Choi Woo- Shik, Park So-dam, Lee Sun-Kyun, Song Kang-Ho, Lee Jung- Eun, and Park Myung- Hoon are the main actors and actresses that starred in the movie.
This movie revolves around two families namely Kim’s family and Park’s family. Kim’s family is so poor and penniless, and they con their way into the house of the super-wealthy Park family. The Kim’s family disguises themselves and begins to work in Park’s family by framing the employees that worked earlier in the house. Meanwhile, the housekeeper who worked for years at the rich family Moon Wang has been hiding her husband in the basement of the house for over 4 years.
The Kim’s family succeeds in disguising and all family members come to work at Park’s family. While the Parks family is away from their home, Kim’s whole family enjoys the luxurious belongings of the house while eating and drinking that the luxurious home of Park’s as their own. From here, the exciting twist of the film comes. The housekeeper of the Park family, Moon Wang returns to the home while Parks are away and here, the Kim’s family finds out that Moon Wang has been hiding his husband at the basement of the house for years. Because both Moon and Kims’ family has secrets that are hiding from the Parks family, they fight against each other to keep their secret.
In the ending part of the movie, the climax of the movie becomes more and more violent and thrilling. At the birthday party of the Parks family son, blood is shed, all three families are damaged, and some were got killed. For many viewers, this scene might be disturbing to watch. The ending of the movie is emotional and disturbing and even though the movie ends, the story of the people of the movie does not end. The movie starts with a warm fuzzy feeling and a bit of laughter here and there and leaves you with disturbing thoughts in the end. In Parasite, everyone is a villain at some point.
So why this Parasite Movie is a masterpiece and why Parasite is it such a massive success?
One of the main reasons that this movie is successful and
popular all around the world is because the plot is a highly engaging story
that shows the wealth divide or the inequality between classes and it has shown
effectively throughout the movie. Overall, this movie shows the conflict and
contrast between the upper and lower classes of society.
When we talk about this wealth divide between classes more
deeply, the director of the movie has used creative strategies to imply
differences between the poor and rich throughout the movie. Movie reviewers state
that even the trash can in Park’s house costs more than 2000 $ and the director
used it to show the extreme wealth of Park’s family. In the movie, in most of
the scenes, we can clearly see a clear line separating the rich and the poor. If
you have watched this movie, you may have missed these lines which separate
rich and poor.
As you can see, this movie showcases class inequality at its finest and also highlights the greed and desire for a short-term gain vs planning for long-term success.
The cinematography in this film is just breathtaking. Did you know the luxury house in Parasite was built entirely for the film? The director had structured the layout of the house as he is an extremely detailed filmmaker. All the scenes of the movie were beautifully spaced out with enough suspense to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
When we consider the acting of the movie, the entire cast does a great job at portraying their characters and emphasizing the little nuances that make each of their personalities unique.
So, I would highly recommend this amazing movie if you haven’t watched it yet and even if you are not a fan of international movies I would still recommend this as this movie is one piece of fine art masterpiece worth watching.
